A new home for Materials Science and Metallurgy
For the first time the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy has a single purpose-designed home, ensuring that Cambridge continues to be one of the world’s leading centres for materials science.
In October 2013, the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy moved to its home on the West Cambridge site, a space designed to promote ongoing dialogue. For the first time, the Department is housed in one building which helps facilitate both informal and formal meetings between staff and students working on different research themes.
The new building for the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy received support from The Ann D Foundation, the Armourers & Brasiers’ Gauntlet Trust, Anne Glover CBE, The Wolfson Foundation and The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths.
