Our research programme aims to understand the mechanisms of mitochondrial diseases better and develop new and effective treatments for patients affected with mitochondrial disease through investigator-led experimental medicine studies, novel gene therapy approaches, and clinical trials in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry.

The MitoCAMB team depends entirely on donated income. Much of this is in the form of grants for specific projects, legacies and funds from Foundations; without these funds, none of the research would be possible.

We require additional money and support which individual friends and small groups can give. Gifts come in many forms and all are very much appreciated. The funds donated will be used to help support this research effort, for example, by allowing us to purchase equipment for clinical research studies, by helping to pay for training and patient engagement events, or for materials to help disseminate our research in a more impactful way.
