Mixed Lacrosse Club (CUMLC)
Cambridge University Mixed Lacrosse Club is one of the fastest-growing sports clubs in Cambridge. Founded in 1996, this season we will compete for our 13th consecutive Varsity Match victory.
Cambridge University Mixed Lacrosse Club is one of the fastest-growing sports clubs in Cambridge. We currently compete in the East division of the National Mixed Lacrosse League and have enjoyed considerable recent success, as league champions from 2017 to 2020. We also contested the annual Imperial Cup tournament, winning in 2020, and were England National Mixed Champions for 2 years from 2022 to 2023. We have also recently seen international success, becoming the 2023 Kurfürsten Champions in Heidelberg, Germany.
Our Blues team have won their last twelve Varsity matches against Oxford. A hard-fought away victory this year ended with a score of 10-8 in favour of Cambridge. The Harriers, our second team, drew their first Varsity in Oxford in 2020, and have won the past four fixtures convincingly.
The club relies on annual subscription fees of £100 per year from its playing members to cover the costs of pitch hire, transport, umpires, and coaching. In addition, members pay for their own match and training kit, alongside the cost of equipment. These significant costs can deter talented players from pursuing the sport without additional financial support.
We are seeking alumni support to enable us to cover our ongoing expenses and keep subscription costs at their current level, whilst continuing to grow the sport of Mixed Lacrosse and keep our club accessible to all.
