Cambridge University Boat Club
Cambridge challenged Oxford to the first race in 1829. The Boat Races are one of the biggest free sports events and over the years have captured worldwide interest.
The Cambridge University Boat Club welcomes every Cambridge student who is interested in trialing, no matter their rowing background. The club runs men’s and women’s squads and puts out open weight and lightweight crews to race Oxford in the Boat Races. In recent years some of our most competitive athletes started rowing whilst at Cambridge. This is possible because of the top-level facilities, coaching, and, most importantly, a competitive and supportive environment that pushes every athlete to reach their highest potential.
Support the Cambridge University Boat Club
There are two ways you can support the Boat Club's rowing programmes and its crews:
The Pulling Together Fund
Regular gifts to the Pulling Together Fund will support the current rowing programmes for the Heavyweight and Lightweight, Women and Men's crews seeking to win this year’s Boat Races.

The CUBC Rowing Charitable Fund
Gifts to this Fund will build a capital-protected endowment fund with the aim of generating an income, which, together with income from the Living Endowment, will help secure the future of high-performance rowing at Cambridge and the Boat Races themselves.

The Family of Liliane Lindsay, CUWBC & M.Phil ‘19 wish to be amongst the very first to honour this unprecedented move by the storied rowing clubs of the University of Cambridge. With both a nod to the past and an eye toward the future, it is with great confidence that we bestow but a small token upon this great One Club endeavour in honour of Gerard U.S. Kuenning, its inaugural Secretary. With special thanks to Coaches Baker, Ryan & Weber for their abiding guidance, insight and foresight.
All gifts made through the philanthropy.cam.ac.uk website are treated as being made to the University of Cambridge with an expression of wishes that the funds be allocated to the registered University club or society which you have indicated as the desired recipient of your generous gift. Whilst the University retains the discretion to allocate the funds for a broader purpose, it fully intends to apply the funds in accordance with your wishes wherever possible. An expression of wishes shall not give rise to a trust or other legally binding obligation. The University maintains a catalogue of Registered Clubs and Societies (including Sports Clubs). The University of Cambridge is an exempt charity subject to regulation by the Office for Students (OfS) under the Charities Act 2011, and therefore does not have a Charity registration number.
