Lawn Tennis Club (CULTC) and Prentice and Seabright Cups
Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club (CULTC), is one of the oldest lawn tennis clubs in the world, founded in 1881, seven years before the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
In the 2019/20 season, CULTC was proud to be home to over 160 members, and we hope to see those numbers grow next season and beyond. To support the continued growth and improvement of our club, we rely on the unfaltering generosity of CULTC alumni.
We guarantee that 100% of donations received from alumni will go towards supporting the club. For eligible UK taxpayers, donations made will also qualify for Gift Aid tax relief. More information on the UK Gift Aid scheme at Cambridge can be found here.
Your invaluable support will be felt across the club, from covering coaching, indoor court hire, transport to fixtures, Varsity costs and more. The current undergraduates and graduates alike at Cambridge are, as ever, endlessly grateful for our former members’ kindness. CULTC Prentice and Seabright Cups
Individual donations are invaluable as the main source of income supporting the costs of the Prentice Cup and Seabright Cup tennis matches and team tours in the UK and the USA, held every two years. The Prentice and Seabright Cups are respectively the mens’ and ladies tennis matches held between joint teams from Oxford and Cambridge Universities, and Harvard and Yale Universities.
In 2022, the matches will be played at the Seabright Lawn Tennis Club in Rumson, New Jersey on grass courts, with donations providing support to player travel and subsistence costs. In 2024 the matches will be played at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon — donations will provide support for the costs of holding the match itself, as well as tour costs of hosting our guests from Harvard and Yale.
